The Everest Peace Project Funds a Library for Children in Nepal!

The Everest Peace Project's goal is to inspire and educate. Our mission is to promote a global community of peace and cultural understanding. An important path to understanding and awareness is education - educating the heart and the mind. The Everest Peace Project's Everest Climb for Peace will help educate and inspire people through our wonderful example of international cooperation and teamwork. However, we wanted to make sure that our project did more - and so that is why we have partnered with Room to Read a wonderful organization that is building schools and libraries throughout Asia. Through their help, The Everest Peace Project has helped fund its first library for children in Nepal (a place that is near and dear to EPP founder Lance Trumbull).

However, we cannot accept all the credit. It is our sponsors and donors like you that have made this happen. And so everyone that has thus far contributed to The Everest Peace Project - congratulations, your financial contribution has helped build a library for children in Nepal! You have helped make a lot of children happy! Thank You!

The Everest Peace Project is still seeking donations and sponsors for our Everest Climb for Peace and our documentary film. And a portion of all contributions will go towards our next goal: building a School for children in Nepal. Help us make this happen - get involved - donate and sponsor, and help us inspire and educate!

The first step toward the lifelong gift of education is a child with a book. However, in many developing countries most communities lack the resources to establish a library. In some cases, not a single book is available to children to encourage independent learning, not to mention the opportunity to develop a lifelong passion for reading. The Room to Read Reading Room program is designed to address this issue directly. They have already established over 2,000 libraries, and their goal is to establish thousands more. They fill each of these libraries with as many as 500 local language and English books encompassing a wide variety based on student age level.
