Ali was born in Palestine and was raised in Jordan. He was educated in the United States and currently he lives in Abu Dhabi with his wife and 3 children.
Ali is an athlete who has played Rugby for almost 2 decades; he has run many marathons all over the world, cycles and even does triathlons for fun! Ali has climbed in the Alps and has been to Nepal 5 times and done a couple of small trekking peaks in the region. Two years ago he joined The Everest Peace Project team to climb Mt. Shasta in California on the United Nations International Day of Peace, and in July 2005, Ali successfully summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa.
Although Ali is not an professional mountaineer, he made it to 7000 meters (23,000 feet) on Mt. Everest in May 2006. Ali firmly believes that by bringing people from different faiths together - especially by bringing together Israeli's and Palestinians that he helped spread a much needed message of peace and teamwork throughout the world.
